Welcome to Peter Harrington Books

LARKIN, Philip.

Rare books by Philip Larkin, including first edition & signed first edition copies of The Whitsun Weddings and High Windows.

Philip Larkin (1922–1985) was one of Britain’s best loved poets and the author of The Whitsun Weddings. As an Oxford undergraduate his poetry was featured in two anthologies: Oxford Poetry 1942–43 andPoetry from Oxford in Wartime (1945). Larkin’s first two books were The North Ship, a poetry collection published in 1945, and Jill, a novel published the following year. Both were brought out by the Fortune Press and are now rare in the dust jackets.
