    First edition thus, one of 220 copies printed (of which 20 were hors commerce) of Ricketts & Shannon's printing of Christopher Marlowe's famous 1598 English rendering of the romantic mythological legend of Hero & Leander, with the contemporary continuation by poet and translator George Chapman (well known for his Homer). This scarce and beautiful fine press printing, which was one of three such productions by Ricketts and Shannon done "at the Vale" (their Chelsea home) before the official establishment of The Vale Press, was done to commemorate the 400 year anniversary of the first printing of Musaeus's 6th century Greek text of Hero & Leander by Aldus Manutius in Venice 1494.     First and limited edition, number 23 of 40. Rolfe's four letters to Grahame were hand printed by Alan Anderson, of the Tragara Press in Edinburgh, for private distribution by George Sims. Sims was a close friend of Anderson's and a bookseller who collected works by Rolfe, and Anderson would go on to print several other works by Rolfe for Sims.
