Ain't Misbehavin' (I'm savin' my love for you)

First edition. Written by Fats Waller and Harry Brooks, with lyrics by Andy Razaf in 1929, Waller recorded the original version that year for Victor Records and also later performed the song in the 1943 film Stormy Weather. It was introduced at Connie's Inn in Harlem during the opening of the all-black musical revue, Hot Chocolates. The show proved such a success that it moved onto Broadway, opening at the Hudson Theatre on June 20, 1929, and running for 219 performances. Learn More
