The driving force behind the exhibition was Theo Crosby; there was no curator as such. Bryan Robertson was Director of the Witechapel at the time. The organisers allotted gallery space to twelve groups of three to four architects, artists, designers and theorists, to collaborate, asking each group to produce work on the theme of modern life.
