RILEY, Bridget.

RILEY, Bridget.

Signed and limited edition prints, artist proof prints and rare works by Bridget Riley including Bagatelle.

Bridget Riley is an English painter and a pioneer of the Op Art movement. Having studied at Goldsmiths and the Royal College of Art, Riley was inspired by the work of Jackson Pollock, and around 1960 began to develop her signature style. With Op Art, Riley used black and white formations to trigger a disorientating effect on the eye. She experimented greatly with differing geometric forms and colours, exploring contrast and the effects of painting on the eye.
