Magnificent map of Kent, showing towns, roads, rivers, hills and woods. The different “Lathes, Bailywicks and Hundreds” are coloured in outline, and listed in tables at lower left, along with lists of the cities, ports and franchises; with an inset view of Dover Castle and town at lower right. A colourful border of 118 coats-of-arms of Kent families surrounds the map. Engraved double-page map from Harris’s History of Kent.

Size: 805 x 540 mm Framed size: 970 x 740 mm. Copperplate engraving, with later added colour. Creasing along central fold, small repair on left hand fold, some foxing, overall very good. Handmade elm frame.
