Clear and accurate map of early nineteenth-century Europe coloured by country. Three scales at lower left, title at lower right. John Cary was considered ‘the most representative, able and prolific of English cartographers’. Tooley says, ‘As an engraver he was elegant and exact with fine clear lettering and great delicacy of touch’.
