Artist: GREAVES, H & W.
Old Church Street
Fine art reproduction print of Old Church Street after the original lithograph of 1868 by the Greaves brothers. Walter Greaves and his brother Henry were the sons of a Chelsea boat builder. They met James Whistler when he moved to Cheyne Walk in 1863, and the three became inseparable friends. The brothers taught Whistler to row and Whistler encouraged them to draw and paint, insisting they describe themselves as the “Pupils of Whistler”.
