TAYLER, Albert Chevallier.
Walter Scott Lees (1875–1924) was a Surrey and English cricketer who played in five Tests against South Africa in 1906. Albert Chevallier Tayler was born in Essex in 1862. He was an important English artist who regularly exhibited at the Royal Academy. Tayler was an avid cricketer, and in 1905 produced a set of 12 watercolours of famous and mostly aristocratic cricket players. Lord Leverhulme used the series to produce lithographs and advertise his Lever Brothers soap products which proved to be very popular.
