A New and Exact Map of The United Provinces or Netherlands &c.
An attractive, large scale map of The Netherlands or the United Provinces by the highly regarded cartographer and engraver Herman Moll. Down the right side of the map, Moll executes a series of pleasing plans and views of Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Utrecht, Middelberg, Gronningen, the late King William’s Palace and a Roman fortress, Arx Britannia, built by the Roman Emperor Caligula. The upper left corner of the map has an inset map of the coasts, sands and banks of the North Sea, the stretch of water that lies between England and The Netherlands. Moll dedicates his map to ‘The Right Hon Charles Lord Viscount of Townsend &c one of his Majesty’s Principal Secretaries of State’. Published in the ‘New and Compleat Atlas’.
