ANDREWS, John, & Matthew Wren.
A Plan of the City of Canterbury.
A very impressive large plan of the city of Canterbury in Kent, from surveys undertaken by Andrews and Wren, then printed and sold by Drury and Herbert in London. This delightful plan was made shortly in advance of a much larger 25 sheet map of the county of Kent by Andrews and Drury. This fascinating plan shows the city in much detail; including all local churches, hospitals, gallows, markets and surrounding field cultivation. The upper right corner displays a decorative title cartouche, showing hop being picked, for the production of beer.
