AA, Pieter van der.
Cercle de la Basse Saxe,
suivant les Nouvelles Observations de Messrs de L'Academie Royale des Sciences etc...
Pieter van der AA (1659-1733) was from a family of booksellers and publishers in Leiden, who flourished during the late seventeenth and early eighteenth centuries. His work was well executed and highly regarded by his contemporaries. The maps themselves are easily recognised and distinguished by their attractive title cartouches, and for the precise cartographic detail they contain. The map extant is from Kiel in the north to Mansfeld in the south, from Osnabruck in the west to Berlin in the east.
