Extima Scotiae Septentrionalis Ora,
ubi Provinciae sunt Rossia, Sutherlandia, Cathnesia, Strath-Naverniae...
A glorious map of northern Scotland depicting the land from Loch Ness and Inverness in the south, to Caithness further north, by the premier seventeenth century Dutch cartographer Joan Blaeu. This attractive map is based on the earlier surveys done by Timothy Pont, then revised later by William Gordon for inclusion within Blaeu’s “Theatrum Orbis Terrarum” or “Novus Atlas”. The map offers exquisite detail and features a superb title cartouche.
