Image shows a file of uniformed service personnel gleefully grinning at the prospect of literature. Churchill himself featured in a Pathe short requesting that the public “look, and look again” at their bookshelves to provide something for the forces “to read in the long hours off-duty,” and remarking on the “pleasure and relief” that books brought.

Sheet size: 660 480 mm. Offset process colour lithograph on paper. Small loss to upper right corner otherwise in very good condition.
