A large scale and informative map of the continent of Europe by the German émigré; Herman Moll. His map features a generous, decorative title cartouche, that features a portrait of Queen Ann, and two Indians from The Americas, an Englishman proudly holding up a ‘Union Jack’ flag, and a turbaned figure of eastern origin. There is a small inset map of a ‘channel’ that was dug to link shipping and trade between The Rivers Volga and Don, thus linking The Caspian and The Black Seas. Published in the ‘New and Compleat Atlas’.

2 sheets joined. Size: 600 x 980 mm. Copperplate engraving with original outline colour. Some skilful paper restoration to map folds and to worm holes. Very good condition.
