A superb and attractive sepia aquatint view of the Cote d’Azur and Mediterranean city of Nice by Albanis Beaumont (1753-1810), with the town clearly visible. Printed by T. Bensley, and published for William Faden in London. Beaumont was born in Piedmont, but naturalised in England. Between the years 1787 and 1806 he published a great number of views in the south of France, in the Alps, and in Italy. This print is from a scarce book of Travels through The Maritime Alps from Italy to Lyons, across the Col de Tende by way of Nice, Provence, Languedoc etc. Prints of this calibre, and of this region are uncommon and desirable.

Size: 290 420 mm. Sepia aquatint. Excellent condition. Print has had a slight clean.
