CHARLES, R. H.
The Book of Enoch or 1 Enoch.
Translated from the editor's Ethiopic text and edited with the introduction, notes and indexes of the first edition wholly recast and enlarged and rewritten. Together with a reprint from the editor's text of the Greek fragments.
Second and best edition, uncommon, described by the editor in his Preface as “not so much a second edition as a new book”; first published in 1893. ODNB describes this as “a huge work of scholarship”. Together with a copy of D. A. de Sola’s Signification of the Proper Names, etc., occurring in the Book of Enoch, from the Hebrew and Chaldee Languages. London: Isaac Frost, 1852. Octavo 18pp., stitched as issued.
