First edition, first printing. With a presentation card inscribed by Mary Barnard to a friend laid-in, “For Winnie, with love, from M.B. and her parents.” The other young poets of the title are John Berryman, Randall Jarrell, W. R. Moses and George Marion O’Donnell. This book precedes Berryman’s and Randall Jarrell’s first separate books by two years.

Octavo. Original blue cloth, titles to spine gilt. With the dust jacket. 5 monochrome plates. Spine slightly rolled; an excellent copy in the jacket with toned spine, and some shallow chips and nicks to extremities.
