First edition, first printing. Containing Burroughs’s first book, this is by far the most collectible of the Ace Double Books series, and presents, with Junkie and Narcotic Agent uncomfortably pressed together in one volume, a microcosmic metaphor for the strained relationship between culture and counter-culture in 50s America.

Perfect-bound reversible “Ace Double”. Original pictorial wrappers. Tiny number ink stamp to first leaf of Narcotic Agent. Extremities a little rubbed, small creases to corners of wrapper on Narcotic Agent side, contents toned as usual. An excellent copy.

Bibliography: Maynard and Miles A1a.
