[HOUSE, Edward M.]
Philip Dru: Administrator. A Story of Tomorrow. 1920–1935.
First edition, first printing. Rare in the dust jacket. The author of this futuristic political novel was Edward Mandell House, a prominent American diplomat and advisor to President Woodrow Wilson. The book’s hero leads the democratic western United States in a civil war against the plutocratic East and becomes leader of the restored republic, instituting a series of reforms similar to the progressive Bull Moose platform of 1912.
