The Autobiography of Malcolm X.
With the assistance of Alex Haley.
First UK edition, first impression of Alex Haley’s first book, originally published in the US in the previous year. Haley met Malcolm X in 1960 when he interviewed him for a piece on the Nation of Islam in the Reader’s Digest, of which Haley was then senior editor. They met again when Haley interviewed the activist for Playboy, and the present book was based on a series of over 50 interviews between 1963 and Malcolm X’s assassination in February 1965.
