First edition, first printing, of the play first performed at The Music Box, New York, on December 5 1957, presented by Saint Subber and Elia Kazan. This book includes a glowing introduction by Tennessee Williams, to whom the book is dedicated.

Original grey cloth, titles to spine and front board black and gilt on a black ground, with a photographic illustration from the play laid down to front board within in a black panel, black topstain. With the dust jacket. Photographic illustrations from the play reproduced on frontispiece and title page, and on two plates. An excellent copy in the very lightly rubbed jacket with faint partial tanning to rear panel.
