Y.”; and additionally signed on the title page: “Paul Bowles Atlanta 21/V/94”. The recipient has written in pencil underneath the second inscription: “(Paul was ill)”. Bob Hines was introduced to Paul Bowles in 1965 by Tennessee Williams. He is the author of “Memoirs: I Remember Tennessee Williams and Others.”

Octavo. Original brick red cloth, titles to spine and spider web design to front board in gilt, silver, and black, black endpapers and top edge black. With the pictorial dust jacket. Boards and spine very lightly rubbed at corners. Endpapers a touch discoloured. Tiny blots of ink to verso of initial leaf (from illustration on recto). An excellent copy in the lightly tanned jacket with minor chipping along the edges and a small closed tear to the upper outer corner of the rear panel.
