The volume reprints the short stories from In Our Time, Men Without Women, and Winner Take Nothing; it also contains the first printing of the play The Fifth Column, written under bombardment in Madrid during the Spanish Civil War, and four previously uncollected stories.
Octavo. Original red cloth, titles to spine gilt on black ground, author’s name to upper board in black. With the dust jacket. Housed in a brown cloth slipcase. Contemporary gift inscription to front free endpaper. Very short closed tear to cloth at head of spine, endpapers partially tanned. An excellent copy in the rubbed and creased jacket.
