Babylonian and Assyrian Laws, Contracts and Letters.
First UK edition of this important monograph, “a collection of documents illustrated by full, ingenious, often brilliant discussions of the problems raised” (ODNB), published shortly after the revolution in the field of Assyriology occasioned by the discovery of the Code of Hammurabi in 1901.
