The Famous Collection of Works by William Blake, the property of the late Graham Robertson, on Friday, July 22, 1949.
Two copies, one in wrappers and one in boards, of the sales catalogue for perhaps the greatest sale of William Blake material since the Linnell sale of 1918. These copies come from the library (the wrappers copy signed by him on the front wrapper, the boards copy unmarked but from the same provenance) of Patrick Macleod, who was Secretary of the William Blake Trust and Director of the Trianon Press. The wrappered copy has Macleod’s pencil annotations throughout signifying the buyer and price realised.
