Quarto (293 x 230 mm). Contemporary black half straight-grain morocco, titles to spine gilt, flat bands tooled in gilt, marbled boards, top edge gilt, pale green endpapers. Engraved portrait frontispiece and 158 plates (the title page erroneously states the number of plates as being 160). Armorial ink stamp to front pastedown. Boards rubbed, two short closed tears and faint dampstaining to frontispiece, light spotting to margins of plates. An excellent copy.
