First edition, first impression. One of a limited edition of 440 numbered copies. Inscribed by the author on the limitation leaf “With love for Alan – who must never change – DJ & JM v. 77”. Also with a pencilled in correction on the second page of text. Alan Ansen (1922-2006) was a central figure in the loose collection of writers known as the Beats. He was close friends with Burroughs, Ginsberg and Kerouac, and was the inspiration for several of Kerouac’s characters including “Rollo Greb” in On the Road, and for “A.J.” in Burroughs’s Naked Lunch.

Quarto. Original white wrappers printed in black. Very lightly rubbed and marked, an excellent copy.
