Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer.
First printing of the score. Inscribed by the composer and writer Johnny Marks on the front cover, “Dear Marlin, Merry Christmas, Johnny Marks.” Though Marks is responsible for penning many holiday tunes such as Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree (1958), Silver and Gold (1964) and A Holly, Jolly Christmas (1964), he will be best remembered for his tune Rudolph based on a poem written by his brother-in-law Robert L. May, for the department store chain Montgomery Ward in 1939.
