Sanford and with his ownership blindstamp on the initial blank. Night Flight was awarded the Prix Femina in 1931 and was selected by Connolly for his 100 Books of the Modern Movement. John B. Sanford is best remembered for his novel The People From Heaven (1943), an anti-racist novel which tells the story of a black woman who kills her white rapist. He received a PEN/Faulkner Award for his five-volume autobiography, Scenes from the Life of an American Jew (1985–91).
