First edition, first impression. Graves’s most famous book, and one of the most famous historical novels, which garnered both the Hawthornden and James Tait Black Memorial prizes. With a clipped signature of Graves loosely inserted: “Yours ever(?) Robert”.

Octavo. Original black cloth, gilt lettered spine, top edge red. With the dust jacket. Folding genealogical table. Jacket spine lightly toned and chipped at head, a few slight marks to back panels, spine of binding rolled. An excellent copy.
