Achilles the Donkey; Achilles and Diana; Achilles and the Twins.
All three works signed by the author on the half-title or title page, dated 1969, first editions of the second two works in the trilogy, second impression of Achilles the Donkey (first published 1962). Unusually the artwork for this trilogy of children’s picture books came first. Carol Barker painted the pictures after a visit to Greece, and H. E. Bates agreed to write the text to accompany them.
