First edition, first impression, scarce: Copac locates only five copies in British and Irish institutional libraries (Wales, Leeds, Scotland, Trinity College Dublin, Oxford), and OCLC adds only two more worldwide (California, Chicago). An appealing Edwardian handbook, covering such subjects as “How to Manage a Public House”, “How to Manage the Cellar”, “How to Take Stock”, “Book-Keeping”, “The Beers, Wines, Cyders, and Sprits of Different Countries”, and a “Directory of some Leading Brewery, Distillery, Mineral Water, and Allied Companies”.

Narrow octavo. Original green cloth, gilt lettered spine and front cover, large advertisement stamped in gilt on back cover, yellow coated endpapers, advertisements front and back. Some illustrations in the text and folding letterpress tables. Contemporary ownership on half-title; small abrasion to back hinge, a very good copy.
