Taussig (1859–1940) was an economics professor at Harvard, long-time editor of the Quarterly Journal of Economics, and served as president of the American Economic Association in 1904 and 1905. His goal in writing this book was “to state the principles of economics in such form that they shall be comprehensible to an educated and intelligent person who has not before made any systematic study of the subject”. A lovely set in the original jackets.
