Contemporary prize binding of full tree calf by Bickers, spine elaborately gilt in compartments, green morocco label to second, rolled foliate border to covers gilt, crest of East Putney High School gilt-stamped to front, marbled edges and endpapers. Engraved portrait frontispiece with tissue-guard. Manuscript poem (entitled “Lines”, 12 ll., signed C. Aubrey Howse, listed on the 1911 census as a schoolmaster living in Barnes) laid in; contemporary prize inscription to first blank. Spine lightly sunned, extremities a touch rubbed, a very good copy.
