Original ornate binding in red levant morocco, rounded corners and curved edges with elaboarate tooling in gilt, smooth spine with gilt title direct, inner gilt dentells and turn-ins, white satin endpapers, all edges gilt, red silk page markers with three miniature medallions. Housed in the original presentation box in faux leather, with gilt rolls to front cover, metal clasp and white crushed silk lining. Engraved frontispiece and four other plates after Rubens, Jean Jouvenet and Le Dominiquin, with tissue guards, all pages decorated with elaborate borders. A couple of light scuffs to boards, endleaves a little toned, occasional faint spotting to contents but overall bright; box slightly rubbed and with dampstain and short tear to lining. An excellent copy.
