BURGESS, Walter W.
Bits of Old Chelsea.
A Series of Forty-one Etchings ... With letterpress description by Lionel Johnson and Richard Le Gallienne.
First edition, one of a limited edition of 110 copies, of which only 100 were for sale. A lavish piece of 1890s book production, with text by two fellow bohemian poets and contributors to The Yellow Book, Johnson and Le Gallienne. The etchings by Burgess (1856–1908) remain classic evocations of Chelsea and its riverside.
