MAYERS, Frederick J.
Carpet Designs and Designing.
First and only edition, first impression; considerably scarce in the dust jacket. Mayers was a prominent Kidderminster-based carpet-designer, “perhaps the most successful public designer of his era” (Haslam, Arts & Crafts Carpets, p. 32); his richly illustrated survey covers all aspects of design and manufacture, from 20th-century methods (Jacquard, Chenille, Axminster) to the traditional styles prevalent in Iran and the lands of the former Ottoman Empire.
