A first-hand account by an Indian Army major of the Abor Expedition on the North East frontier of India. “The Abor Expedition (1911-1912) was carried out to punish the perpetrators of a massacre of a British colonial official, a doctor and their coolies on the Assam border” (National Army Museum online).
Octavo. Original red cloth, title gilt to the spine and in white to the front board within a triple fillet panel. 4 full-page maps. A little rubbed and soiled, some restoration at the spine, perforated stamps of the Enoch Pratt Library, Baltimore to the title page, and occasionally to the text, light browning, else very good.
