First edition, first impression. Inscribed by the author on the half-title to Georgian poet John Freeman, “For Mr. John Freeman, these few very early poems by Edith Sitwell”. The folding case in which this copy is housed bears the bookplates of Simon and Judith Nowell-Smith. Simon Nowell-Smith (1909–1996) was a prominent bibliophile and collector, as well as secretary of the London Library and president of the Bibliographical Society.
