First edition, first impression. Inscribed by the author to the novelist Alexander Trocchi on the front of the card folder, “For Alex from Christopher”. The two writers met in Paris during the early 1950s, when Logue joined the staff of Trocchi’s literary magazine Merlin, and Logue later wrote that, “Between 1952 and 1955 I saw Alex, as he was to me, several times a week; but in the twenty-eight years following his departure from Paris until his death in 1984 we met no more than fifteen times, seldom alone, and twice in police courts”. He recalled how Trocchi “had befriended me, published me, persuaded others to publish me, had helped to curtail my suicidal urge, overseen the publication of my first book, and borne with my so-called love affairs” (A Life in Pieces: Reflections on Alexander Trocchi).
Twelve colour pictorial cards loosely inserted in the original printed card folder. Cards in excellent condition, folder rubbed and creased.
