A Passage to India.
First edition, first impression. “Up to the last moment [Forster] had been assailed by doubts and despairs about his novel, but its reception removed all his fears. The book suited the moment, and friends and reviewers alike called it a masterpiece and his finest achievement” (P. N. Furbank, E. M. Forster: A Life, II, p. 123).
Octavo. Original red vertically-ribbed cloth, spine and front board lettered in back. Spine gently rolled, extremities lightly bumped and rubbed, front board very slightly marked and with a faint indentation to top edge, light toning as usual. A very good copy.
