Mr. Loveday’s Little Outing.
And Other Sad Stories.
First edition, first impression, of Waugh’s macabre collection of short stories. The cloth binding, in the standard red-and-black snakeskin pattern used for Waugh’s novels in this period, was issued as a “Flexiback Binding” with extra reinforcement of rubberised linen tape at the inner hinges. Copies in jackets as nice as this one are uncommon.
