To Leonard Baskin.
First edition. First printed in the Smith College magazine “The Grecourt Review” this 24 line poem is printed here in run of about 25 copies for the use of the author and editors. In our opinion although typically referred to as an offprint the removal of pagination and all all surrounding content elevates this rare little pamphlet to the bibliographic standing of a separately published work wholly written by the author. Preceding A Winter Ship traditionally recognised as Plath’s first publication by a year we firmly believe this to be the author’s first – and scarcest – book.
