A Novel. Translated by Willa and Edwin Muir.
First English edition, first impression. The Castle will never attain the fame of its sister The Trial, but in literary terms it is more than a match. This was the first publication in English of any of Kafka’s books, preceding English editions of The Trial and Metamorphosis by some seven years. It is far scarcer than either.
