With the “Die-Hards” in Siberia.
First edition, first impression. “Ward was colonel of the 25th Battalion of the Middlesex Regiment. A contentious but important book, violently anti-Bolshevik but also highly critical of American and Japanese policy in Siberia” (Lengel). Very scarce in the dust jacket.
Octavo. Original green cloth, gilt lettered spine, lettered and with the badge of the Middlesex Regiment in dark green on front cover. With the dust jacket. Portrait frontispiece of the author, 7 plates from photographs. Pale staining at foot of back cover, jacket a little soiled and with a few creases and tears to back panel. A very good copy.
