(DELIUS, Frederick.) Philip Heseltine [Peter Warlock; pseud.].
First edition, first impression, of this first English-language biography of English composer Frederick Delius (1862-1934), written by fellow-composer and lifetime devotee Philip Heseltine (1894-1930), known as Peter Warlock, who first met Delius as a schoolboy in 1911. There had been a German biography and study of Delius by Max Chop (Berlin, Harmonie, 1904), but Heseltine’s was the first full length biography of Delius to be published in his native England.
