English signed limited edition (first published with Dulac illustrations in French as Au Royaume de la Perle, 1920), number 15 of 100 copies signed by the artist, out of a total edition of 775 copies for sale in the British Empire (an additional 775 copies were published for the USA by Brentano’s, New York, 1925). Rosenthal was a famed Parisian jeweller who personally commissioned Dulac’s illustrations.

Quarto. Original quarter vellum and white boards, titles to spine and cover gilt, patterned endpapers, top edge gilt, others untrimmed. With a maroon cloth solander case. Colour frontispiece and 9 tipped-in plates by Edmund Dulac, printed tissue-guards. Boards tanned, rubbing to corners and fore edge, light surface marks to rear board. A very good copy.
