First edition, first impression, of this collection of poems, many pertinent to the First World War, by poet and politican Vernon Bartlett (1894-1983). Bartlett served in the war, was invalided out, and in 1922 was appointed director of the London office of the League of Nations. He helped R. C. Sherriff in the novelisation of his famous First World War play Journey’s End, in 1930. Very scarce; OCLC lists nine copies in libraries worldwide;.
