OPPENHEIMER, Robert J.
Notes on the Theory of the Interaction of Field and Matter.
[Offprint from] The Physical Review Volume 33, Number 5, pp. 461-477.
Rare offprint of the paper which pointed out that the quantum electrodynamics of the time led to false predictions of the frequency of the absorption and emission spectra of atoms. This led directly to the breakdown of theory and the revolutionary work in quantum electrodynamics by Feynman, Schwinger, and Tomonaga.
